Give Healthcare Reform to the Private Sector

More needs to be done to reform healthcare in the United States – but Congress should not be leading the way since have already shown their lack of ability to get anything done. Hillary Clinton and President Obama had great intentions – a health care plan for all Americans. But unfortunately, they handed their great idea off to the “swamp”, which swallowed it up whole.

We believe there should be a committee, independent of Congress or the Senate that deliberates ideas for health care reform. This committee should be formed out of the private sector and should include business-minded individuals (someone like Mark Cuban comes to mind). People in private enterprise would be much more efficient and effective in actually reforming health care.

The “bill’ this committee comes up with should be really simple and concise. Of course, things will need to be discussed and clarified but at first, they should try to keep it as simple as possible.

A couple points we think should be included in this bill:

  1. If someone wants to buy only one type of insurance, they should be able to do so.
  2. If someone has a pre-existing condition they should pay a little more for insurance. It doesn’t make sense to allow people to wait until they have cancer (for example) to buy health insurance.

Even if these ideas aren’t implemented by the next elections, they could still be explored and discussed. We at least need to get the conversation rolling for now, but our mantra is to Stop Talking and Do Something! So let’s do the right thing for all Americans and move towards implementing a health care reform plan that doesn’t get swallowed up by the “swamp”!
