I’m sure that fiscally, as a conservative Democrat of 56 years (which I will finally quit if we get any more socialistic), I am further right than the conservatives depicted in this great cartoon by Branco.
I have fought against fraud and waste for 30 years by both parties and yes, the Democrats are more guilty than the conservatives.
I am liberal when it comes to having a large social safety net. I believe we need to cover everyone’s medical needs within our borders. We’re already doing it we don’t deny emergency medical care to anyone, legally here or not and we should continue helping those who truly cannot help themselves.
The problem is our broken medical system, not the doctors, researchers, or nurses. They are the best in the world. But our system benefits the corrupt swamp hospitals and insurance companies. We could lower medical costs by 25% overall if we restructured the system. The President is making real reductions in pharmaceutical costs that will start showing up next year.
Examples of a few other solutions:
Let undocumented immigrants go to ZoomCare at $80 per visit where they can be denied if necessary instead of going to emergency rooms at $1,200 per visit, often for something as simple as Tylenol or aspirin.
Ever wonder why we and undocumented immigrants have to wait 8 hours to see someone? Think about how unhealthy our system must be for that to happen.
Ever wonder why hospitals don’t have a ZoomCare in the corner of their buildings? Think about that.
Insurance companies are collecting large subsidies for undocumented and legal citizens who make above minimum wage and actually don’t use this insurance, since they already have other coverage.
This can be fixed by the private sector with the right guidance.
