WHILE THERE HAS BEEN VICTORY …. JUSTICE STILL HAS YET TO BE SERVED

I want to begin by saying that I was very shocked, yet extremely pleased that Judge Brett Kavanaugh survived the attempted smear campaign on him.  I am glad he has been appointed to the Supreme Court.

As I watched the media report on the accusations into his character I literally felt my blood boil.  You see, I am a middle-aged woman.  I grew up in a time when it was okay for your male co-workers to make sexual innuendos, etc. towards the women they worked with.  I lived all of the sexist stuff that was considered the norm.  Women’s rights have come along way and yes, they still have a long way to go. I know what it was like to live in that world and I have fought to overcome those injustices.

But I also have a grandfather, a father, an uncle, a brother, a son, and a nephew.  The thought of them being falsely accused of sexual misconduct is terrifying to me.  The thought that someone who simply does not like you can destroy your credibility and life with one lie about you and have you condemned by the court of public opinion is horrific and appalling.  I think Brandon Straka’s YouTube video sums up quite well just what main stream media can do.

I am proud of Brett Kavanaugh and his family for not giving up and accepting what he has worked hard for and deserves.

I am also proud of all of the women who have stood up to speak their truths with the #MeToo movement or in any other way.

What I am not proud of is how we let the false accusers go unpunished.  They destroy lives and take away the credibility of those who truly deserve to be heard. The false accusers need to be held accountable.
