VERIFY then TRUST

What I think everyone is nervous about is this settlement or letter of understanding with the Iranian regime. It is still the same regime, and while it might get diluted over time, our ultimate goal must be a regime change—even if it takes 10 years. If that regime cannot change, and I don’t believe it will, it has to be diluted and replaced.
The one thing we absolutely cannot do is give them money before they perform. If we give them any money, they are going to use it to complete their goals: ‘Death to Israel and America,’ which they are still chanting as we speak. They may not build the missiles or the bombs themselves, but they could simply buy a nuclear bomb if they wanted one. The trust factor is a major problem here, even if we think we can make them meet the different benchmarks this agreement likely has.
My concern is that even if they sign it, it means nothing based on all past experiences of the last 50 years. America had a great relationship with the Iranian government for 200 years until this regime came in, took over, and stole it away from the Iranian people. I still have not seen how this agreement addresses what the Iranian people actually get out of it. Will they be taken care of? If the regime didn’t give most of their money to support the military, the Iranian people would be very comfortable and prosperous. Instead, 60% to 70% of all oil revenue and wealth created by Iran goes to their military and proxy organizations in other countries all around the world. We cannot forget that these proxies can do their bidding for them. The regime will deny it, of course, and while we should be able to trace it, I remain deeply concerned. I hope I am wrong, but until then, my motto is going to be: VERIFY, then TRUST.
